Revista Filipina Pays Tribute to Father Gilbert

NEW YORK: A cultural and literary journal dedicated to Spanish-Filipino literature has paid tribute to the literary work of Fr. Gilbert Luis R. Centina III, OSA, in the wake of his posthumously awarded the Premio Jóse Rizal de las Letras Filipinas.
Revista Filipina, in its 2020 winter issue that came out on February 11, enlisted authors, writers, and academics to examine the life of Father Gilbert and his importance and contribution to Spanish-Filipino literature.
Instituto Juan Andrés de Comparatística y Globalización, in collaboration with the Grupo de Investigación Humanismo-Europa of the University of Alicante and Revista Filipina, chose Father Gilbert as last year's winner and made the announcement last December 30 in Madrid, Spain to coincide with the 124th death anniversary of José Rizal, the Philippine national hero after whom the award is named.
