NEW YORK: Gilbert Luis R. Centina III greets the New Year by publishing his latest poetry collection containing 200 new poems. The book, released today, January 1, 2014, is available on Amazon and other online booksellers such as Barnes and Noble.
Getxo and Other Poems is the fifth poetry collection of the prize-winning Filipino American poet. Critics have described his poetry as "lyrical," "modern poetry at its best," and "deeply rooted in religious history, mythology and mysticism." He continues that trajectory with the flash pieces in this collection, which he has masterfully crafted “with the strength and magnitude of prayer” that is palpable through the pages not only of this volume but of all his works.
The book is the fourth new work and the sixth to be published by the author within eight months. He broke a long hiatus from poetry writing with the publication of Somewhen last April, followed by the reissue of both Our Hidden Galaxette and Glass of Liquid Truths in May, by Rubrics and Runes, a novel, in July and by Triptych and Collected Poems in August.
