I want to convey my deepest condolences for the death of your brother Father Gilbert. The flight that he has undertaken today, the day of Saint Joseph the Worker, will surely have been rewarded by the Lord of Mercy. The latter will have opened the doors of his Kingdom to extend his hands and say: "Enter Father Gilbert. Here is your reward after the time you spent on Earth working as a missionary for the Church." Now, from Heaven, he will be able to continue drawing beautiful words, warm smiles, and his great desire to open new paths in unknown lands and establishing his identity as a man, a priest, a literary person, and a researcher on the history of the countries he has known; strengthening ties of spiritual love to put roses instead of stones, prayers instead of laments, and above all open our eyes to that life of affection, smiles, candor, struggle and example of perseverance and willingness to be a great friend. He will always be in our hearts and our prayers. I remember his interest in languages, his poems, some published in the EPA PORTU Yearbook; his desire to live and continue writing; his efforts to improve his Spanish and to know its history; his words of enthusiasm, and spending time caring for other sick people. He said to me: If you know someone who needs help, tell me. It is not a Goodbye; it is a See You Later. Rest in peace.— ANA ROMO DE MIGUEL, educator and editor
